GBEGIRI (BEANS SOUP)
STEP 1 : You peeled the beans to remove the shaft.
STEP 2 : Pour the beans into a pot of water and boil for about 1 hour (Till the beans become very soft).
STEP 3 : Pour the beans into a blender and blend it to make it smooth. You can still pour the beans through a sieve.(One used for ogi) to remove the reaming shaft so as to make the beans completely smooth, then set it aside.
STEP 4 :Heat up the palm oil in a different pot for about 30 seconds. Pour the blended pepper. Stir fry it. Add your seasoning cubes, salt, crayfish and continue to stir for like 3 minutes. Then you can add your beans.
STEP 5 : Add the meat stock(Omi eran), continue to stir it.. Add a little water if the soup is too thick. Cover it and leave it for about 5 minutes.
STEP 6 : Your Gbegiri soup is ready. People normally add ewedu. You can also add red stew with meat, chicken or ponmo. The best swallow for gbegiri and ewedu is amala.
