Join me as I share my personal journey of growing up poor and physically challenged, and I’ll challenge myself to reflect on the biggest lessons I've learned along the way! Growing up poor and physically challenged is a unique experience that has shaped me into the person I am today. It's a story that I'm not always comfortable sharing, but I believe that it's an important one to tell. As a kid, I always felt like I was at a disadvantage. While my friends were worrying about what game to play at recess, I was worried about how I was going to get my homework done with a disability that made it difficult for me to write. And on top of that, I was from a low-income household, so we struggled to make ends meet. My parents worked multiple jobs just to put food on the table, and I often had to fend for myself from a very young age. The financial struggles were real, and they affected every aspect of my life.
